Leather Skirts For Women 2013
The pleated leather skirt was one item I was dying to own! It's become a huge trend in the last months.
We all know that 'the leather mini skirt' was hugely popular last year and I'm sure they will be a continuing trend this year, but it's got nothing on the pleated younger sister. While I don't have a problem with wearing real leather, I also don't agree on where it comes from but I try not to think about that. I would never wear real fur though, that's certainly for sure! I've managed to find a few places that sell the pleated leather skirts in real leather or faux leather, both equally as stunning & trendy.
Leather skirts are a big trend for fall. Designers showed all manner of skirts in the supple skin, from pleated to pencil shapes. We've also seen stars like Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie strutting their stuff in ladylike takes on the look, proving that leather is no longer reserved for the Harley-Davidson crew.
The designs of skirts have varied between skirts measuring over 3 meters in diameter at the bottom worn by upper-class women in the medieval times to the extremely short mini-skirts of the 1960's. The origin of leather skirts cannot be determined, though early estimates suggest the inspiration of these designs were the early Roman leather skirt worn by warriors to a battle. The idea was the rugged protection offered by leather in a battle was unmatched to any clothing except for bulky metal armor.
